In the meantime, you may want to reflash with the regular Netduino firmware
Have you tried the re-flashing bit? I had this error happen a few times... reflashed (technically, I upgraded to the newest "approved" firmware, and the errors went away. Been working fine since then.

#3107 POE?
Posted by Eric Burdo on 28 September 2010 - 12:06 PM in Netduino Plus 2 (and Netduino Plus 1)
It will be nice to power the board through Power Over Ethernet.
It's an important feature that I really need on my domotic project, is it plane ?
I've never tried it... but you could start here:
http://www.freetroni...net-for-arduino
They also have a shield for PoE too.

#3057 Expansion shield - For the Netduino?
Posted by Eric Burdo on 27 September 2010 - 07:38 PM in Netduino 2 (and Netduino 1)
Eric,
In theory it should--but I'd have to look at the existing driver code. We're actually working with MaceTech to provide C# drivers for their Centipede shield...
Chris
Oooh! http://macetech.com/...&products_id=23
I think I'll wait a bit then.

Hi ThreadAbort,
I posted a message on Wednesday to try to give 48 hours notice to the community members (so they could get first priority). We didn't want people to feel like we were spamming them by sending them an e-mail--but perhaps we should create an opt-in list for these sorts of things?
Last Wednesday's post
Thank you for your contributions and your enthusiasm. Did you give Proto-Advantage a call to see if there were any extras in their allocation batch?
Chris
Proto Advantage has them "on backorder" and have 12 available starting tomorrow (I ordered one). Hopefully nobody beats me to it...
I tried contacting MakerShed, but got no response yet... so went with Proto.
#3048 Wait...what's this?

Try Proto-Advantage in canada (is nearer to you ) they said will ship starting 28 (tomorrow). It is marked in stock
Good luck!
Yup... just placed an order. MakerShed never replied back to me... so Proto-Advantage it is!
#3047 Powering the NetDuino Plus
Posted by Eric Burdo on 27 September 2010 - 07:01 PM in Netduino Plus 2 (and Netduino Plus 1)
Yep, no chance of damage. It may or may not power it for too long, though. 9V batteries don't have much capacity.
Right... and it would also depend on if you are powering anything else with that too... like LED's or such.

You guys should have emailed the forum members on these first. We are the most active on the project and have the most to contribute.
I almost made the trip to NY Maker Faire. It was still an 8 hour drive for me.
About the same for me... but I had plans already, and couldn't get away.
I'm still trying to hunt down a Netduino Plus w/out paying a fortune in shipping...

There might be. There was a delivery delay on Proto-Advantage's Netduino Pluses and I think they cautiously listed a few fewer Netduino Pluses for sale than they were allocated. They ship to both Canada and the United States. I would write them and ask if they have any left. If they do, it'll just be a few--but that's your best bet.
I think MakerSHED pretty much sold all of theirs at MakerFaire NY over the weekend.
Chris
(I wish there was a crying icon). I would have bought from Proto if I'd known Maker was going to sell them on their site. The Plus would have been perfect for the presentation I'm doing end of October.
I'll call Proto and see if they happen to have any left in stock... Maybe I can scrounge on up that way.

#2977 Must to be sure

but would be interesting Netduino Plus could handle it.
You'd have to test it... I think the Netduino (or the Plus) would handle it... but I'll let someone with more experience say yeah/nay.
And you don't have to get those specific ones.. I just happened to find them quickly at SparkFun. There are plenty of places to buy stuff.
#2953 Must to be sure

I would like to hear about both of them, but very much depends on the money. I am not looking to invest hundreds of dollars for possible new hobby.
16x2 panels (and you can get them bigger) look something like this:
Here is the SparkFun LCD panel shown above. They are pretty easy to program with the Netduino (some good examples if you search the forums). They come in a few different colors...
A graphics screen... maybe something like this:
Here is the Sparkfun page for the above graphics screen. It's a PSP screen 4.3" - full color.
Not sure... I don't have one, so I haven't tried it yet. I think the Netduino could handle it... All depends on what you wanted it to do. Obviously the full color screens cost a lot more than the character LCD screens.
#2947 Anyone interested in an eagle version of the Netduino files?

i might have to do a tutorial on how to solder it.
I'd love to see a tutorial on surface mount soldering...
#2945 Segmented LED Displays

Hi Eric,
Maybe this example will help you get started:
http://geekswithblog...nking_leds.aspx
It shows how to use a shift register to talk with two 7 segment LED modules.
Thanks Szymon! I'll pick up a couple of shift registers this week (I don't have any in my collection of parts). I'm hoping the Netduino Plus shows up at MakerShed soon... I'll order everything from them.

For grins and giggles... anyone have code/breadboard plans to run a 7 segment number display w/out using a shift register?
I cobbled together something from some of the arduino tutorials, and some help from Google.
I'll write it all up and post it later this weekend.
