Do we have any one who has done any extensive power consumption measurement for the Netduino 3? I have some other questions.

Can we go to deep sleep and wake up on an RTC interrupt? Especially the internal RTC running on the internal clock.

I have been playing around with NETMF on the STM32F407 Discovery. With NETMF4.3, it consumes about 50mA when idle but about half that (22mA) with NETMF 4.4.

Is there a plan for 4.4 in mind?

I have not seen any open source license on the website? Can I design my netduino 3 core board and use it in a commercial application freely?

Apologies if some of these questions have been asked before. I was last here in the days of Netduino 2 and left after some would fail to work just like that. I appreciate though that there has been much effort to improve the device. I wanted to use the GHI devices but there is a lot of closed source.

I am testing non-OS based low power gateway platforms for use in Wireless Sensor Networks and NETMF platforms are on my list.

It has been stated on the forums on several occasions that the Netduino platform is open source.  The web site is Creative Commons (see the page footer) and the schematics are on the site.

Would I use Netduino for a commercial product....

If you had asked me that question 12 months ago I think I would had said yes.  Today I would say, think about it.  There has been very little involvement by Secret Labs in these forums for over 6 months, alright, no contribution at all.  If I were putting together a commercial product then I would want to make sure I had support from the manufacturer.

The statement I have just made really pains me; I think this platform is great.  It got me back into electronics and the kit Secret Labs put together is high quality and I have really enjoyed the time time working with the boards.

Ohhh, and I still think the Mini is the best board they released !

Regards,

Mark
