#55517 Spark Core (TI CC3000) Porting for Super WiFI Mini?

Posted by piwi on 20 January 2014 - 10:44 PM in Netduino Mini

Hi Hanzibal,

sorry no pics. Got the enclosures but did not get started yet ....

But, on the other hand, talking about embedded wifi solutions. The below adres goes to the smallest wifi package yet, 8x8 mm. There is even a starter kit. Just published on the CES show, as far as I know ...

Hi Hanzibal,

glad to hear from you too !!

Greetings from a cold and dark Germany ....

I would be very interrested in the wifi thing you have. Any specs ??

Does it do ssl sockets and if so how many concurrently ??

Does it support AP mode ??

What chip are you using ??

Questions, question, questions ....

Hope to hear from you soon ...

BTW, the monster dac is still playing just fine ... although now controlled by jremote from an ipad via an pc/usb. Like to have that changed into some embedded solution ... but with those rates .... do not know if that will work ... time will tell ....

Keep the good things going ...

Cheers,

P.

Hi Baxter, welcome to the club.

I have got two CC3000 Boost both on patch 19. The one works pretty much constantly and can even handle UDP packets. The other one, as well on patch 19 gives me the creeps though. Sofar not succeeded in coming even close to the first one ??????

If I use the second on a TI Sellaris board it just connects and get's an IP address, wunderfull, unsecured but working. But when I exchange the first one with the second one and you would think, same setup, same patch, same power supply and same software, well nothing is more surprising then good old TI always open for a surprise...it just doesn't ....... work. Although this one is secured thru WPA/WPA2 etc.

@Baxter, yep an update on codeplex might squeeze out some minor things that now and than cause some unexpected and surprising effects, until than I have to stick with what I've got and yes I patched the CC3000 boot with the stellaris and executed a smart config with it as well.

At the moment the cc3000 just does not connect to my secured AP, only unsecured will work ????

Any idea how I can get the secured one working ?

My idea, smart configuring the secured AP via stellaris and the iPad sending the beacon but no idea if this works. Can't do at the moment since I'm not there where the devices are .... I'll keep updating when I'll have the result though ...

Ha, you said you update the WRL-CC3000V2 succesfully. I've got a couple of those laying around ! That's good news, it worked. Can you let me know with what HW you got that working, a clear picture with the wiring would be nice.

Just Awesome !!

Any ATA of the software ?

Can the CC3000 be powered through a gadgeteer socket ?

#52550 Spark Core (TI CC3000) Porting for Super WiFI Mini?

Posted by piwi on 04 September 2013 - 06:58 PM in Netduino Mini

I just bought a new cc3000 chip with the new symbolization, but it had the old firmware.  So, I decided this weekend to start work on a C# based firmware flasher.  Nearly all the code is done, but it likely has bugs, but I am going to test extensively before I try anything on my guinea pig cc3000.  Also, I have added several key tests in the initialization to give useful errors when the communications are not working...  This will easily enable a remote update because the patch location can be anywhere.

man .... this is so cool .... tell me, can you walk on water as well ....

Looks like a new service pack is available(V1.11.1),

http://processors.wi...atch_Programmer

http://processors.wi...#Version_1.11.1

It seems to be mostly network bug fixes.

@Baxter, thanks for the hint.

Hi All,

just registered on the windowsondevices web site, replied to their confirming email and some seconds later they replied again:

Quote: "Thank you for signing up for the Windows Developer Program for IoT.  We’ll let you know when your kit has shipped."

So appearantly something has changed ....

Cheers,

Me.

#59871 Windows on Devices? When?

Posted by piwi on 24 August 2014 - 06:08 PM in General Discussion

Linux is no different...

For me IoT = STM32F4xx + NETMF

Does everything I need...

right on Juzzer ... I can only agree ... and now with the 411 coming, even the better ...

The STMF32F429 is, once getting it to work and as far as I can say for the moment, pretty fast but power hungry as well ...

.. but than again it is not really needed (fot IoT) to have the LCD power on board, there are other ways to display output ...

Can't barely wait for the discovery kit coming out in the fourth quarter ... maybe an idea for your next workshop (the 411) ...
