Just curious since you said "I guess if I buy the serial port version"... is there a reason you are choosing this specific LCD display over the many others that members have used? There are many LCD displays with fully working and documented code on this site. Just curious of the choice.


No, not particularly. It seems easy to program from .NET and I like the large display. And I can easily use it on my PC with Smartie if I want.

From what I see, the LCD natively has a DB9 connector for RS-232 Communications. On the USB version a USB Daughter board has been added and the DB9 connector disabled. The Netduino doesn't support USB devices so this wouldn't work. You would need to re-enable the DB9 connector and connect into that.

I guess if I buy the serial port version, then I'd have no problems and can plug directly into the header where the USB is plugged into? I see there is two +5V LCD and +5VLED, then DATA-IN, GRD, etc on the bottom-right-hand header.
