Is Netduino suitable

15 June 2012 - 05:27 AM

Hi All Want to convert circa 1994 microfilm scanner from its currently aged electronics to something modern. Basically I bought it second hand and it didn't come with the software ,which is now impossible to get. The machine has two linear axis's and a 3rd which is a pneumatic/electric arm used to lift microfilm in and out of place . Wondering if Netduino is right for me and if people could offer advice on drives for this machine. I have some experience with .NET and electronics and currently reading up on NEtduino now. I want to use the current hardware as in Servos and Valves as they still work .Unfortunately little data appears on the internet about them as it was made in 1994. Will I have trouble driving these components with netduino? Thanks in advance :-) Below is some pictures and Part details X Axis - Horizontal axis Cleveland machine controls Servo MTE2115-120AF Cleveland machine controls Tacho 2DM1000P-05L37AS1 Y Axis Vertical axis Pittman Servo, Model: 9414H686 , 9.1VDC Z Axis - Air actuated pick up Honeywell Skinner Solenoid Valve 701N14 A2AN 24VDC 10WATTS Honeywell V53DA2020 20PSI 24VDC 11WATTS Pittman Servo, Model:GM87128681 , 24VDC , ratio 187:1
