I have curretnly designed a shield that incorporates  the following..

RTC

8 Leds

8 INpuuts

8 Relays

8 1WIre Outputs

5 Buttons

LCD Interface

ADC Interface

This board will allow anyone to learn about different interface technologies(eg spi, i2c etc) and have the ability for anyone to have shield that will cover 80% of everyones ideas into practice.

Let me know if anyone is interested in this shield, i will be taking pre-orders. The pcb is currently being finilised.

I have worked on this shield for the last year so i feel it will be useful to alot of people.  My background is in electronics so i am excited to releasmy first product.

Sounds like a very competent and versatile board, good work! Some pictures and a demo video would be great! I'm sure we all love to see what it looks like and what you can do with it.

Yes, I see why you will make it smaller but it still looks like a nice "playground" for a Netduino (or an Arduino).

I take it, it's not your first PCB :-)

1. Are you supposed to populate the board yourself?

2. Will the XBee pattern be included too?

Yes, xbee pattern will be on it. Not sure if i will get it assembled or not..waiting on costs...

It will have few surprises i know the techies will love. Will will only have 8 relays instead of 16

Thanks Noom, i expect the board alone to be about $20 but i am already designing v2 of board which will scalable and include optional wifi, gps etc

It will be focused to end users than developers..i would not call it a development board as i expect it to be used in a commercial environment...i will have enclosure for it as well.

Yes..i asked for the spelling to be corrected a long time ago but no response!
