Hi Helen,
Welcome to the Forums!
You will need to use a motor driver circuit to allow the low current signals from the Netduino to control the high currents (and voltage) required by the motors.
You can do this several ways:
1/ build your own circuit with transistors.
2/ build your own circuit with a motor driver chip such as the L298 "H-bridge" chip.
3/ buy a ready built module with a motor driver chip.
4/ buy a ready built shield that connects directly to the Netduino.
The links above are just for examples - there are plenty of modules and shields to chose from.
The choice depends on what electronics experience you have, and how you wish to layout your system. Shields can be a bit bulky, but are very simple to use.
Hope this helps - Paul
