Dear Friends,

After we shipped Netduino Plus 2 last autumn, quite a few of you asked for an upgraded 'Classic' Netduino.

Today we introduce Netduino 2, still just $34.95.

Netduino 2 Specs
Where to Buy (resellers)

Netduino 2 has three times the speed (120MHz) and 150% the code space (192KB) of Netduino 1.

It features the same new architectural enhancements as Netduino Plus 2 such as: four serial ports; six PWM channels; 12-bit ADC; software control of the power headers; PWM-enabled onboard LED; MiniJTAG support.

And it leverages the new Arduino R3 shield format--while maintaining 5V tolerance for compatibility with existing shields. Each pin can drive up to 25mA of current to light LEDs.

Like on Netduino Plus 2, the roomier new flash storage on Netduino 2 enabled us to include OneWire support directly in the NETMF firmware. We even snuck networking support in there, for use in the future.

By the way, you may notice that the "Netduino 2 Application" and "Netduino Plus 2 Application" templates in the new Netduino 4.2.2 SDK are identical. The larger flash on the Netduino 2's microcontroller enabled us to simplify development and deployment scenarios quite a bit, and we'll be continuing this theme over the next few months.

Please enjoy your new Netduino 2s, and please share your feedback and projects here!

P.S. With the introduction of Netduino 2, I'm pleased to announce that the original Netduino just got even more affordable. Netduino 1 is now $29.95 MSRP, while supplies last. Chris P.S. Commercial customers using Netduino 1 in your commercial projects: we can manufacture the boards on a small-run basis. Contact me directly for details.
