Hello,
I'm working on my first netduino project. I would like to wifi connect my N+. From a little investigation it looks like there are shields available for wifi, like the wifly. But since the N+ already has a NIC, wouldn't using a cheap bridge be more cost effective, assuming you don't mind the extra power requirement (which is fine in my case)?
Thinking something like this http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=B004FMI3DA
Anyone use a bridge with the N+?
The endstate of my project is going to be a N+ that reads 5 LM35 temp sensors which will be in water proof probes inside of my home brewing rig. Than I plan on putting it on my lan and have it serve json to a simple page on a webserver and than use flot graphs to display the temps.
Thanks!
wifly vs wireless bridge

Hi,
I have used both of the following:
ASUS WL-330gE Wireless Router
http://www.amazon.co...cm_cr_pr_sims_t
$23.00 after rebate
and,
Edimax BR-6258n
http://www.edimax.co...id=24&pl2_id=89
I personally like the Asus for easy setup as an ethernet adapter. See,
http://forums.netdui...h__1#entry16028
The Edimax is is very tiny, slightly larger than a SDHC card and is 150N rather than G like the Asus.

Hi cobolstinks,
The WiFi bridge will also give you the native fast Ethernet and System.Net capabilities of Netduino's TCP stack... I generally prefer using Ethernet-to-WiFi bridges when it's an option.

ok great thanks guys, Ill probably go the bridge route. I plan on using the Mika Webserver and have netduino serve json data to another webserver on my lan. the temps will get passed in json. Should be fun.
