Been following this over the past few months - at $25 - $40 for a Linux computer on a credit card sized machine you just have to get one.

There's some more on the BBC web site and on Click they have it booted and connected to a TV.

Mark

Either they want to sell under price, or it's something to attract the people. I don't think they could be able to sell a similar board as low as $25. Since they're promising 128MB of RAM (which is a heaven), the core should be an ARM9. Chris, time ago, stated that a similar board would cost over $100. It looks much more a good way to advertise. Cheers

According to the Wikipedia, the processor is Broadcom 2763 (ARM11 @ 700 MHz), with Hynix SDRAM mounted on top of it (PoP).

I should have written: "the core should be *AT LEAST* an ARM9". Anyway, the focus was on the price. Cheers

Mario, no problem. I also wonder if they can keep the advertised price. Although I was more interested in the USB stick-sized prototype (with camera), the current alpha board is not that compelling... (unless it really costs four times less than competition : -)

I think they are aiming for credit card size in the final version.
