I'm sold! When will an ethernet shield be available?
mavromatis, welcome to the forums!
We're working on it
There are a few Ethernet shields out there now; we just need to find one that's high quality and write drivers for it. Also, since .NET Micro Framework supports lwIP there might be some things we can do with a really rich networking stack.
P.S. I see that GHI Electronics is selling an Ethernet Shield and provides prototype source C# drivers for .NET MF. Maybe or maybe not open source, but worth a look if they'll let you use it on any board.

Supporting the GHI one would be great... I use the Arduino Ethernet Shields right now, these are based on the Wiznet W5100 chipset. I would suggest adding drivers for this (which seems to be the same as the GHI version).
Here is a project I'm working on: http://www.mavromati...no-mega-part-2/
What really excites me with the Netduino is the amount of RAM... 60KB!
Unless a deal was worked with GHI, their driver is only licensed to be used with their products.

Interesting, as the board looks like a direct copy of the Arduino Ethernet Shield, oh well... Shouldn't be long before netduino has a ethernet stack -- at least I hope not...
It is a direct copy of the Arduino shield -- or at least to what I could tell.
When they say "their products", I think they mean the main micro controller board, not the shield.

Your wish has been partially fulfilled. Here you go:
Please note that this is incomplete, experimental support for the Wiznet shields.
