Thanks to the recent snowfall, I've finally had a chance to play with my TDA7313-based audio board that I asked for help with back on http://forums.netdui...board/?hl=eagle. (And thanks again for everyone's assistance - especially Hanzibal, who has been more than kind!).
So far, I've purchased an old wooden radio shell from eBay, relaquered it, added a reproduction grill cloth and decals, and installed a Raspberry Pi, that TDA7313 board, a SparkFun si4703 FM tuner breakout, a digital audio amp, a +5 and a +12 volt power supply, and an old VFD I had in the junkbox. I've attached some snapshots below (and yes, the Raspberry pi is attached to a piece of acrylic with Legos).
If you're interested, you can look at to see a quick and dirty demo of what I've completed so far. I used the I2CAdapter class from http://forums.netdui...le-i2c-devices/, the si4703 code from http://forums.netdui...4703#entry18802, and the TDA7313 code from http://forums.netdui...ler/?hl=tda7313. Next step is to parse out the current song info (using MPC on the rPI) and the FM RDBS code for display on the VFD, and selecting between inputs using a rotary switch.
If I ever get it all working, I'll let you know.
Mostly, I'd like to thank everyone who so graciously provided me with code (even if you didn't know it ). I could never have gotten this far on my own.
