#1Posted 02 July 2015 - 05:48 AM I'm getting a bit frustrated. I just ordered a new N3 as a replacement for an NP2 that seems to have died. I got the new board and plugged it in and everything was working great. I wrote a simple program and realized that I needed to flash the board so I did so following the directions on this site and it seemed to go just fine. Now, however, when i plug it in, both the blue and white leds come on for a few seconds and then go out.
There's nothing plugged in (except the usb), I've tried different cables, different computers, but no luck. I can't get it into bootloader mode by holding down the button and the computer won't recognize it at all.
It's not always the same amount of time before the leds go out. If I let it sit for a while, it seems to take longer to go out, which makes me think it might be overheating somehow. The ARM processor seemed really hot. (like almost burned me hot)
I found this post from a few years ago that seems to describe my situation perfectly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi spdygnlz,
If your Netduino 3 LEDs both turn on and then turn off, the power subsystem is damaged or otherwise isn't working properly (or there's an electrical short of sorts somewhere). Is anything plugged into your board other than the USB cable? If not, let's get you a replacement unit immediately and pull that one back for defect analysis. What reseller did you buy your Netduino 3 through? Thank you, Chris #3Posted 03 July 2015 - 06:10 PM Yeah, nothing else is plugged in. I got it through Amazon. #4Posted 06 July 2015 - 07:01 PM
Hi spdygnlz,
Can you please log into Amazon and return it for a replacement? We're happy to take care of you, and engineering will have the opportunity to analyze the replaced board when it comes back. That should get you a brand new board. Does that take care of your requirements? Thank you, Chris #5Posted 06 July 2015 - 07:04 PM Best Answer Perfect! I'll do that when I get home tonight. Thanks!
