Using Netdunio go and shields

arduino go wifi tft shield temperature

Hi tanker,

The Shield Base is currently in beta, so it's a bit slower and has a few fewer features at the moment.

I'd recommend Netduino Plus 2 at the moment if you're doing shield-heavy projects.

Hi there,

I have a personal project and am trying to decide on a platform to use for it. It seems like Netduino Go is a good chose for those knowing something about Net (with C#) and keen on using fixed socket cables to connect expansions. My project will include wifi, LCD and wireless temperature sensor. However I have not found these components for the Netdunio Go so it seems it might be better to use the Netdunio Plus 2 platform.

However the Netduino Go offers shield base to connect components to which do not have the fixed cable sockets ( like this starter kit comes with shield base http://www.makershed...o-starter-kit).

I am not familiar with the functionality of the shield base so I wanted to post this question here to see in anyone knows if I can use any device available for Netduino plus 2 with the Netduino Go shield base for example.

-> a temperature meter from Maker Shed see: http://www.makershed...-shield-bundles
-> a TFT touch screen shield see: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1651

Hope you have some tips for me.

Thank you very much for you prompt reply Chris, much appreciated.

My project in itself is not shield heavy - more like I would like to go with Arduino Go but I am having difficulties finding the components I mentioned for Arduino Go. Maybe I am not looking in the right places or more likely Arduino Go is not there yet. Looking forward to it getting there.

I guess I will go with Arduino Plus 2 for now and see how things progress.

Thanks again.

Tanker
