startup time

Is there anything that can be done to increase the start up time of the Netduino? I have a panda 2 that I was planning to use for a project, it has the right number of IO, small form factor, and a good price. but I hit a road block right away. I had been using an arduino uno for testing, and wanted the panda2 to be my final selection. but when I start it up there is a 3-4 second delay before it starts running its logic. the uno started nearly instantaneously. I figure this is probably just the way it is and there's no way around it, but for my project I need a start up time closer to 50ms, maybe 100ms at most. if a person can see a delay between power being applied and an LED being turned on from the output, its not fast enough. my project uses only digital IO, several inputs and about three times as many outputs. about 30 IO points total. can it be configured not to use all of the other functions of the board in order to increase start up time? I need USB for programming only, no communications, I don't need the analog IO, PWM, SD card or anything like that.

Hi mcgillis, there is most possibly no way to increase the starttime of a .NET Micro Framework device to a time of 100ms. I hope that someone will proof me wrong but I don't think someone will. The only exception I can think of is the use of an really deep sleep mode. But this would be a feature which has to be implemented in the Firmware of the Netduino. Currently there are no sleep modes available which fit your need. Regards Guido
