I have two computers we are using for Netduino development. One is XP, the other Windows 7. One running VS2008, the other running VS2010. After upgrading both machines to MF4.2(RTM) and the Netduino SDK 4.2 neither machine can communicate via the USB to the Netduino. MFDeploy has no problem communicating. We replaced Visual Studio on one machine (complete removal and reinstall) it is still unable to communicate. The boards work fine on a machine with a new installation of VS and MF2.4. The device dropdown on the .NET Microframework application page remains populated with "<none>". Does anyone know how VS detects the attached devices and perhaps how the configuration is stored? Thanks.

Hi Tom S, If you open up Device Manager, you should see the Netduino. It's possible that the drivers got uninstalled (or Windows is a bit confused). Can you check and see if the Netduino is there with an exclamation mark next to it? Drivers are in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Secret Labs\Netduino SDK\Drivers" folder (remove (x86) from that path if you're using 32-bit Windows on your desktop). Chris

Chris, Reading your post, I returned to MFDeploy to test the device enumeration. MFDeploy will not enumerate unless it is run as Administrator. I returned to Visual Studio and ran it as Administator. Bingo. I am not sure why, but on these systems I must have some security set to not allow enumeration. Thanks for your attention. Tom
