Fastening to a plexi glass base

screw hole plexi glass fasten

Best Answer EddieGarmon , 27 May 2015 - 02:00 PM

Tall plastic tube is a nylon spacer .5 in long, .188 in outer diameter, 0.117 in inner diameter, bought from a local True Value Hardware store.

I also have 3 @ 0.25 in OD, 0.115 ID underneath.

I believe the hole position is an artifact of arduino design before I2C had independent pins near there.

Hello,

I have got a plexi glass base that I would like to fasten Netduino 3 to. The thing I am worried about is that one of the holes (near the button) is quite close to both blue wall of the connection (not sure what is called) and button contacts, so anything metal might cause problems.

Should I get nylon standoffs? They don't look that stable to me, although I haven't tried them.

Are there any other options?

Thanks!

I mounted mine on a piece of 1/2 inch PVC.  Used nylon insulators and nylon screws.  Mounted the ND3, a button, a half-size breadboard and the shield (doesn't work yet, waiting patiently).  It is a very convenient for experimental and teaching purposes.

This tall white plastic tube that is on the left side, what is it?

I was wondering if this hole between the button and a contact was placed there it was probably placed with the thought on how to use it. So, there should be anohter way of using it, right?

thanks!

I will look for nylon standoffs/spacers. non-metal solution seems the safest way to go.
