Hi all,

Before giving up on this one and buying a Plus 2, I would like to know if I could salvage it.

First, my context: my Netduino Plus was performing perfectly, but mostly because of lack of time, I shelved it for a while. I am using Windows 8.

Lately I wanted to try a few things, so I downloaded the latest SAM-BA (v2.12 with patch), NetMF 4.1, FirmWare 4.1.0.6, erase the Netduino, Installed everything in the proper order, installed a little program from VS2010, everything perfect.

Then after 2 or 3 Netduino reboot (plug/unplug the USB), I got an error USB driver malfunctionning. Hum, OK? redid the whole shebang once again, worked again for a short time, then poof, same thing, USB driver error. The same cycle went on 6 or 7 times before I got really tired of this and decided to post here.

The only little thing I noticed is that SAM-BA preselect for me At91sam7x512-kf (I think, don't have it in front of me now), while I noted to select At91sam7x512-au with my previous version.

As that is the only thing I have not tried (go back to a previous version of SAM-BA), I wonder if that could be the reason?

It seems that, for whatever reason, after a few reboot I get "something" corrupt, as this has really to do with the Netduino itself and not the USB driver.

To be clear, once I do the whole cycle to re-flash, reset the Ip address, etc, it does works fine, just for a very short time!

Thanks for any idea that I could/should try.

Regards,

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

I am using three Netduino Plus v1s, with Windows 7 running VC# express 2010, SAM-BA v2.12, and MF Deploy v4.2.

Mine occasionally misbehave when I try to connect to VC#, but not so that I have to re-flash them.

Sometimes I find disconnecting the USB, and plugging in on a different port on the other side of my netbook helps when things start to act strange.

Is there anything else connected to the Netduino when it refuses to work? (Shields or VIn) I am wondering if there is any residual power stopping the Netduinio fully turning off - hence when USB is re-connected it is not in a reset state.

Sorry its not much of a suggestion - Paul

Hi Bernard, If you just deploy a "blinky" app, does it start up properly? AT91SAM7X512-EK is the proper item to select in SAM-BA. No worries there. Chris

hi Paul, thanks for your answer. Yes, generally it's connected to the Lan, but with those problems, I took the habit to unplug the Ethernet, plug the mini USB, then re-plug the Lan

Thank you for your answer, Chris. I'll try this and be back to report what happens.
