I wanted to know if there is an official documentation for Secret Labs version of the SDK. A few times I have found myself wondering things that Ive eventually found some solutions for on this forum but would save some time I I could find these answers in some sort of documentation.

An SDK document would be wonderful! I'm currently stuck trying to create a set of I2C transactions, reading through other peoples code helps but does not replace a proper set of documentation..
If a volunteer is required...I would be willing to assist in its creation!

I think Netduino it's great but it needs a proper SDK documentation. It's very hard to know what I can and can't do. The information should not stay in the forums. Hope this topic will be answer by Chris.

I'm thinking of returning my Netduino because of not only the lack of documentation, but the fragmentation caused by different versions of the SDK not keeping to any standards, case in point, none of the samples in the wiki work with 4.2.
Also lack of having a Linux toolchain is not cool.. I hate being tied to a VM, Yes, I know about the experimental/in-dev one, but that doesn't help me, I have a Netduino.. no a Netduino Plus or a 2/Plus, a Netduino, so the whole "Deploy with an SD card" bit is out.
All-in-all I've been very unhappy with my Netduino experience, but I suppose that's to be expected whenever Microsoft has their hands in something..
If these issues get resolved then I may consider picking this back up as a viable learning tool and development tool, until then, I'm sorry that I have recommend to all my friends that they need to stay far away from the netduinos and .NETMF

Before saying anything else, I would like to make clear that being that Netduino and its SDK are open source and free, one can't be demanding or critical of SecretLabs and Chris, who are being extremely generous by providing such awesome tools for little to no cost. That said...
JoopC, wanting proper documentation is not a sign of incompetence. On the contrary, not documenting one's software is - particularly if it is an SDK or other component to be used by others. There are those who hack at stuff to feel or appear clever and those whose aim is to be productive. The latter want documentation. If you produced an SDK for the company I work for (very large and Blue) and didn't provide usable documentation, you'd rightly be fired.

It is unfortunate that you are having difficulty in getting things converted. Initially I had similar issues in getting some samples to work, but after a few tweaks most things were resolved. The folks at Netduino have also done a great job in making their SDK backwards compatible, however there were some code samples that used Microsoft classes that may need tweaking as NETMF has evolved and improved over time. As for SDK documentation, I agree it would be great to have a single place where people could easily find the few Netduino specific classes with examples. However I believe the majority of the NETMF SDK is well documented and can be found here: http://msdn.microsof.../bb417054.aspx I have found some information to be incorrect and missing, but for the most part it's a fantastic resource. If you are looking for more specific Netduino examples I find the Forums to contain a wealth of information. In searching for examples, I generally prefer Google to search the forums with as the IP.Board's search capabilities have been limited (though this may have been improved with the latest upgrade). If you have any questions or difficulties in getting older samples to work, please post a question in the forum and generally the community is quick to respond.
As for Linux support I highly suggest you look through the developments of the Mono team which can be found here: http://forums.netdui...forum/12-mono/Â I personally have no need for a Linux toolchain so my knowledge in that area is limited.
I do hope you consider keeping your Netduino as the community would certainly appreciate your enthusiasm and passion.
