its also opto coupled, so i like the design
when you want to drive a mosfet directly you have to watch out that its logic level, or it wount completly turn on, get hot and burn. but this board avoids that with the couplers #3Posted 14 February 2013 - 07:30 AM
Netduino should be able to control this - as NooM has already pointed out, there are optocouplers (4N35) that switch the MOSFETs, so it is basically the same as if Netduino controls ~10 mA LED. IRF540 has gate threshold voltage 2 - 4 V (3V typical), so Netduino's 3.3V output would be barely sufficient to switch it on, but the transistor needs at least 5V on the gate for 10 A drain current, and 10V for the maximum 22 A current.
I would say it depends on how many LEDs you want to control and how they are connected. It is certainly an overkill for controlling single 'normal' LED, it will work for power LED or LED strip (constant current power supply recommended). #4Posted 14 February 2013 - 04:48 PM I think I will go with the Meanwell Drivers which are used for high powered LEDS and get a constant power supply.
