funk55 -- when you create an event, Visual Studio auto-fills it with "throw NotImplementedException" to remind you that you need to do something with the function. Regarding C# templates...that sounds like a glitch in the install. From your previous message, are you using Visual Studio 2012 (required for .NET MF 4.3 support?) Chris

Hey John,

Hey guys just wanted to see where we stand with the Netduino Plus 1 and the new firmware.

When we tested .NET MF 4.3 on Netduino Plus 1, it was a bit too big. Once 4.3 QFE1 comes out, we'll be tweaking the configuration to see if we can squeeze it onto the gen1 hardware.

Chris

I suppose the current 4.3 fits well in the Netduino Plus 2, right? Is that the lowest platform the 4.3 NETMF fits?

Correct

See the 4.3 Beta 1 thread in the Firmware sub forum http://forums.netdui...re-v430-beta-1/

I installed the 4.3 SDK and needed to use the UdpClient. According to the MSDN it is in the System.Ext.Net namespace of mfpwsextensions.dll (something like that) but when I add that reference I don't see that namespace. Can't find UdpClient anywhere.

Hi Chris,

When are you going to support the lwIP networking stack on the n+2?

I keep getting a message debug device not in a debug state, rebooting, and then Debugger engine could not attach to debugging target.  How can i fix this, I have done the power reset

Hi Michael,

When are you going to support the lwIP networking stack on the n+2?

Netduino Plus 2 supports the lwIP networking stack today. It's built in :) There is an update to lwIP that's coming with NETMF 4.3. It's already in the 4.3 PK but there are some bugs that need patched before we can adopt it. Once the PK is patched, we'll update the Netduino Plus 2 firmware to take advantage of all the latest lwIP bug fixes. Chris

Are you using the 4.3 beta firmware on your board and the 4.3 beta SDK on your development machine? If so, try switching to the legacy MFUSB drivers. If that doesn't work, I recommend sticking with the production (4.2) firmware for now. Chris

Hi Chris, I have now gone back to the production build 4.2 but was just using the 4.3 beta firmware, 4.3 sdk and 4.3 netmf sdk.  On the Netduino Plus 2.  Unsure what was causing the issues.  Thank you for your help.

Is there any news on when to expect the next (and maybe final?) release of the 4.3 Firmware?

Right now I'm experience some strange behavior in TCP/IP communication. And I'm not sure if it's my code or maybe caused by lwIP in the 4.3 beta firmware. So having a final, stable IP stack would really help in narrowing that down ;-)

BTW: I'm stuck with 4.3 since I'm using VS2012 (wouldn't like to downgrade from that).

That's the firmware that is on the netduino device or the one that one installs aside VS.2013 (SecretLabs*.dll) ?

unfortunatly it is not possible for me anymore to debug after deploying to the Netduino with my VS2012 prof. I have tried un-install of VS and drivers etc  more than one time. clean the register, nothing works. Only a blue led burns after deploying and the Netduino do nothing, I know for sure that it the driver is the issue.

When I start VS 2010 everything works well under 4.2 ....... .

The problem did start when I went back in VS2012 from 4.3 to 4.2.2 to make a HEX file. In the past i did it several times without any problems.

Chris,

What are you hearing from Microsoft about the future of NETMF?  There is very little new on their sites in nearly a year and I have read comments that the project has been moved to China for maintenance only and not development.

I have 2 N+ and 2 N2+ and am working on a major, perhaps commercial project, but I don't want to get too far down the rabbit hole just to have it cave in.

Any insight that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Glen

This is not looking good: http://blogs.msdn.co...sue-fixing.aspx Is those comments reliable?, no updates on the other places, codeplex or the blog.. No commits after dec4 2012 either, so stating that someone is actually working on this seems a bit overrated.

Blog comment that is not very encouraging:

MF was moved to China as a maintenance project. US dev team is gone. Not likely to see much future development.

I hope that one is bs but it has been very quiet the last year. Why couldnt this be uploaded to github or something easy to use, and also, move the netduino stuff there so atleast it's available in something that people can maintain, not those rubbish zipfiles floating around..
