Hey there Netduinees!

I've made quite a detailed tutorial of how to communicate between a Windows Phone 8 and a Netduino with a cheap Bluetooth module.

The app controls the RGB of an LED based on the sliders in the app. Another way is using the camera on the phone to get the average ambient color of what it's looking at and change the LED accordingly.

I'm a Windows/Windows Phone dev so electronics is not my forte' - which is why everything in the post is probably painfully easy for everyone here. But I hope it can help out even 1 person :-)

I make Windows Phone stuff for beer money and rent (in order of priority). I've got a blog and am on the Twitter machine.

Thanks for the RT :)

And party mode is probably better than "epileptic mode", thanks!

roguemat,

I just saw your tweet and post. You now have me searching the globe for such a module. There are several on Amazon.com for my American friends, but sadly I must resort to a China e-bay reseller and wait a month before it arrives here in Canada. But until then I will stick with watching your demo and counting the days when I can play with my Lumia 920, Bluetooth, and Netdunio. Fantastic demo and thanks!

Cheers,

Steve

I've bought lots off DX. This looks the same as my module: http://dx.com/p/jy-m...t-module-104299

And AFAIK they offer faster [paid] shipping :)

The 920 is awesome!

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately it was a tad too late. I bought one from e-bay seconds after posting here. :)

I have bought many things from DealExtreme but have also found their shipping times about the same as most e-bay sellers. I'm actually still waiting on some DX stuff from a month ago.

And yes the 920 is awesome. I've had several Androids, and am coming from the Samsung S2 and S3, so it took a bit of getting used to. But now I can't do without. Sadly I have yet to make a WP8 app, but I think I've found a great primer and awesome idea right here.

Great job roguemat!

Steve
