It's a male 10-pin shrouded connector with 0.05" spacing. Like used by Netduino Go!, Gadgeteer and as MiniJTAG connector in general. So it can be used for a lot of purposes. Not sure what you are trying to say?

As stated on the previous page a S-U-X socket (plus a few more letters if im being pedantic, as gadgeteer has more than S,U & X type sockets) as you insist on calling it, is nothing more than a generic 0.05" pitch IDC shrouded header. Outside of the gadgeteer (and by association the wider netmf community) *nobody* would have a clue what you are on about. For further proof i offer you this google search the only reference to a S-U-X socket is one of the last results and is one of your previous posts on this thread!, you are of course free to keep calling it that if you will, but most people wont have a clue what you are on about. As Stefan stated this sort of socket is used for many hundreds if not thousands of applications with a tiny percentage of their use being on GO and Gadgeteer boards.

The main issue with them for hobbyists is that they are very difficult to source in small quantities at a reasonable price from the major worldwide component distributors (i am not including hobbyist sites as unless they operate out of your country of residence the shipping costs can be excessive) carry them in small quantities usually you have to buy in multiples of 100 at ~$2 a piece (Farnell and RS dont stock them as far as i know, or are very expensive i.e. > $2 a piece which is nuts when the MCU on your module costs less than the socket!!!, Mouser and Digikey do i believe).

Just to clarify... These are GoPort IDC headers (standard 0.05" pitch IDC shrouded male headers), as Nak just mentioned. They will also work as "Gadgeteer sockets" or as MiniJTAG/SWD headers. Or in a variety of other applications where a 0.05" pitch IDC shrouded male header is needed

For the community's benefit, we're simply calling them "GoPort Headers." Or "GoPort IDC Headers", to be more specific. Regarding the classification of "S-U-X" mentioned, that is the Gadgeteer module compatibility type which GoPorts can offer on the Netduino Go mainboard. It's usually written as "SUX" but we put the hyphens in there so that it's read as a set of letters instead of as a word. Stefan--I'm glad to see that you got your GoPort headers already. Woot! Netduino called this S-U-X male headers.
I can called this socket asIDC shrouded male headers with 0.05" spacing. This is what i'm looking at. It is hard to find in local stores and websites. But I can sourcing alibaba's website.

I think you misinterpreted that. It's compatible with Gadgeteer S, U and X sockets. Hence that description.

frm now on let called this IDC shrouded male headers with 0.05" spacing. I went local electronic surplus, they think i'm brained nut Posted Image

FCI might make some, or be able to. But probably not in small quantities. "flipped on their side 0.05" IDC headers" is probably not a common requirement and the exposed smaller-diameter pins would probably make them a bit more fragile.

Check out the FCI Minitek 127 catalogue (pdf), it contains basically all the [imaginable] variants : ). Also, almost every major component distributor (Digikey, Mouser, Farnell etc.) has many similar items from different vendors (e.g. Gadgeteer uses connectors by Samtec), although getting the part in small quantities probably will not be easy.

I'm pleased to announce that we have ordered thousands of through-hole GoPort IDC headers. These are scheduled to arrive in about 4-6 weeks, and will be available through Amazon.com and select Netduino Authorized Resellers.

And these?, I know the smd ones are on amazon, but the others?
(I have some unsccrouded(?) ones still so it's not an rush, just wanted to pop in and check
