Filtered answers for Eric and my comments:

-Are we still on track for a June release of the Ethernet Module?

No

-Do you have a release date for it yet?

No

-Is it even being worked on?

Yes

- You told us we get some modules and news in the first quarter did you keep that time line.

No

- Any reason why this was not feedback to the community?

No, we are to busy with agent watches that where to delivered last year.

- Do you see a similarity?

Yes we are still not very good in making assumptions on delivery and telling our customers who pay for our work what is happening.

And telling them an actual delivery date even if its not in the foreseen future.

This response it not a rant.

Its is how you as a company are perceived by the GO owners.

Chris, time to read your PM messages and Respond to them, breaking promises is a No No

Hey beastyboy,

We're working on getting a number of GoBus modules into manufacturing right now, starting with the 8-bit STM8S-based modules. After that we will be able to work on the STM32 modules (like the Ethernet module). To set realistic expectations...the Ethernet GoBus module will not be the first new module to ship.

Beastyboy,

You pretty much nailed how I perceive things.

Chris,

You guys have got to start shipping something this summer or your creditably will be totally shot. (if it isn't already.)  The Netduino's are very nice, but I'm wondering if you guys can manage a follow up product that isn't just another Netduino variant.   The idea behind the GO is great, too bad the execution of the idea has not lived up to the potential.  The agent watch is another great idea, but I'm not going to touch it until you guys actually start delivering on some of your promises.

-Eric

Eric,

Count your blessings as I have paid for two agent watches .... and I was expecting by now I could have opened up my cars with the agent watch and the GO to be used as the central controller in them.

I noticed that the ethernet module is no longer listed on the hardware page: http://www.netduino....accessories.htm

Does this mean anything? If so, what?

Thanks,

Bill

Hey Bill,

There are quite a few accessories for Netduino Go queued up to ship. The first of these are the Ambient Light, RS-232 and XBee Adapter modules (which are listed on the accessory page).

In an effort to highlight the accessories that are gearing up for shipment soon, we pulled a handful of modules from the accessories page that are farther down the road. As we get closer to the release of additional modules, we will add them to the accessories page as well.

We have had parts for a number of modules in stock for more than a year: we're really eager to get them out to market. I'll keep you apprised as the new gear goes onto the production line and is ready to ship.

Thanks for your enthusiasm and your patience on the new accessory gear,

Chris

Interesting change to the home page though.  Not seen that one before.

Well, the Netduino GO has been removed from the Hardware page.

The good news is, the Netduino 3 is born, and it is like a Netduino Go with built in wifi and shieldbase.

So... in a way I guess the wait is over, kinda.

Is there going to be an ethernet module for the netduino 3? It looks pretty cool.

Well, the Netduino GO has been removed from the Hardware page.

It's still on the main page. Not sure it's disappearing entirely.

Netduino Go is still in production.

When you are building a pure-modular project, it will continue to be the best choice with 8 GoBus ports.

Once we get the eight new STM8S-based modules shipped, we will be working on firmware for the Ethernet module (bringing networking to Netduino Go) and 4-port hub module (bringing expansion to both Netduino Go and Netduino 3).

Speaking of STM8S-based modules, we'll have more news on those shortly :)
