For anyone wanting to do the same - I managed to create my own board which uses the Netduino 2 firmware.

I've shared the Fritzing project here.

Impressive. Hats off to doing it all in Fritzing.

Thanks :)

Fritzing is pretty cool. It didn't have the footprint for the STM32F405 so I had to create that first, but other than that it was a good tool to work with.

The next iteration of the board will be created in Eagle though. Although the userinterface in Eagle feels pretty archaic to work with I feel that it gives me better control than Fritzing when working with crowded boards.

Cool board! Place nice with SPI? What version of N2 firmware? 4.3?

I don't remember if I've used it with SPI, but I think so.

Yes, it uses the 4.3.1 Netduino firmware.
