No software updates yet, but we should have one by the end of next week. We typically like to get an update out very quickly after a new board ships, to take care of any bugs that surface when users start putting all the features through real-world tests
One tip: if redeploying your existing Netduino Plus projects to Netduino Plus 2, be sure to swap out the hardware provider from SecretLabs.NETMF.Hardware.NetduinoPlus.dll to SecretLabs.NETMF.Hardware.Netduino.dll.
Congrats on your new boards; what do you think you'll build with them first? I believe that you're going to be using them as an in-place upgrade in your current projects?
Any possibility of a Gadgeteer Adapter library? (EDIT: Sorry, wrong thread...)
Here is our priority list:
1. Bugfixes
2. Ethernet modules
3. Gadgeteer Adapter drivers
There are a few quick things to address with the 4.2.1 firmware, and then we'll have some news on the Ethernet module. We look forward to hitting #3 in the list soon

I plan on first upgrading the Pandora's Box (Paranormal Tool) prototype to ND+2. Will solve some issues. I have a web based Halloween product to prototype, that will be next.
I was wondering if WatchDog is supported on Netduino Plus 2, or if you plan to support it in near future?
There are two watchdogs on the STM32F405 chip, so we can probably expose one via NETMF (and possibly use the other one internally with NETMF).
We're focused on making sure any bugs in the initial firmware are worked out this month and on enabling software I2C for the holidays, but this is something we could attack after the holidays if there's lots of interest. Perhaps we could also contribute a managed code class back to the NETMF core.
I just got my Netduino Plus 2 today, but sadly will not have a chance to use it until later this evening. To commemorate this joyous occasion, I did get a chance to put together a video of my unboxing.

Nice, didn't notice before now, but nice touch with the black ethernet socket, to bad the microsd and usb sockets also arent black, to match everything
I just got my Netduino Plus 2 last night! I quickly opened it to check and make sure ... and it fits in our duinoCase-NP just fine! Glad to see that everything was kept in the same exact layout!
We've got two projects going into test based on the Netduino Plus ... we're going to see how they recompile and run on the Netduino Plus 2 now!
Also, if you want a quality metal case for your Netduino or Netduino Plus (1 or 2) check out our site: http://www.duinoCases.com or you can also find them on Amazon.

Those cases look very nice, do you ship to Europe ?
Fantastic job Dave! That was a blast to watch. I'm particularly impressed with your knife handling skills.
Now to see videos of the new and improved Pandora's box.

I already have one concern with my upgrade. The protoboard I used for Pandora's box is the Freetronics ProtoShield Short. The way the board is made it will be tough to get to the new I2C pins. Luckily they have the drawings for the board on their site. I may have to modify it and do a run of ProtoShields to fit the ND+2. Now I need to crash course on eagle.

Hi Dave,
We're also working on a software I2C feature to bring I2C to pins A4/A5. It's a month or so out at this point, but that will provide an even higher level of compatibility with Arduino shields.
You can also put jumper wires between SDA/SCL and A4/A5...
