What is running on them?, native code?

It's native code if I'm correct. If not, Chris may correct me :)

this can be interresting.. I have one of those en28j60 adapters in the post somewhere, and and stm32f0 discoveryboard on my desk, same stm as this.. Guess I have to try to marry those.
(I still will be ordering that ethernet module of course.. :) )

Correct. One upvote for Stefan :)

The SD and Ethernet modules are running a really early version of the "standard IO firmware for STM32F", supporting virtual SPI channels. We'll continue enhancing these modules' firmware over time as well...

Did I mention that I love the brawn of these chips?

Oh, you're welcome to do either/both :) We've already posted the schematics, and will make the firmware available as soon as it's tested (probably the same time that we program them for shipping).

Hi Chris,

About this:

3. Reflashing using the USART pins (and ST's Flash Demo Loader application...or the reflash tool provided on Netduino).

1. Are you sure about the ST Flash Loader application? Version 2.5.0 does not support flashing the STM32F0x series. Can you please share a link to the updated tool?
2. About the 'reflash tool provided on Netduino': can you please provide a link to the RTM version of the tool? The last version I tested did not work properly with the Display Module.

Thanks,
-Fabien.

:o I've been using our Netduino-based flash code, but 2.5.0 is listed as the supported flashing tool on the STM32F051's webpage:
http://www.st.com/in...duct/251901.jsp

There I go making assumptions that ST's website is correct :) A dangerous thing, I know! You may want to ping ST and see if there's a config file needed (of if the 2.5.0 update on their website has been updated with new options without changing the version number).

2. About the 'reflash tool provided on Netduino': can you please provide a link to the RTM version of the tool? The last version I tested did not work properly with the Display Module.

We're not to RTM yet, but the code in the latest flash app should work as a template for the [nwazet Touch Display Module. Please let me know what's not working for you in the following app and we'll help get you up and running:

Chris,

2.5.0 is listed as the supported flashing tool on the STM32F051

While the tool is capable of flashing an STM32F0x chip, it is missing several STM32F0 device map files.
I created a map file for the STM32F051 Medium Density with 64K of flash (see the attachment) and tested it against an STM32F051 Discovery board.

Hi Yeorwned,

The firmware and drivers for the SD card modules are the basis of the Ethernet module as well.

We should be done validating the Ethernet module in the next week or so. Once it passes all of our validation tests, we should be sending it off for manufacturing.

Hi Chris, I hope site members are given a small but early heads-up so we don't miss out on the first wave depending on initial production releases. Thanks, TomTheTeacher

Is there any updates about the timeframe in which this module would become available? I've found the SD Card module ready for shipping late september, and it would be amazing to have this module at the same time. Can it really be true, that it seems almost impossible to find a descent alternative to the upcoming ethernet module? I'm aware of the fact, that it would be most optimal to use the upcoming module, but I have a very limited time to get my solution complete - it's my final exams, with deadline in december. I'm currently using a N+, but I'm in a desperate need of extra ressources :D

Is the Netduino Plus an option for your project?

Thanks for the update Chris. You made my day :)

Also, since we're on the subject of new modules: [nwazet has a new undisclosed module for release in early August ;-) So, definitely a busy summer...

Cheers,
-Fabien.

Hi Fabien,

Do you have the ethernet modules for NGo available right now in Nwazet?I coudln't find them.

There are three new modules shipping. SD Card is first (29-September) followed by the Mystery Module and then the Ethernet module.

Then the Ambient Light and XBee modules are coming a bit later this autumn.

Thanks Chris, that's great news. I know nwazet has already the SD module in stock, should I wait until September 29th until the release date or the ones available now are the same exact SD module?

What is the Ambient Light?

Hi Giuliano,

What is the Ambient Light?

The Ambient Light module is a luminosity sensor. Its main job is to detect brightness. It's using a really nice digital sensor so that it works as well outdoors as it does indoors, and under varying types of indoor light.

Here's a link to the full details:

Got the N+ atm, but could really use some more memory. That's the whole point switching to NGo - hopefully it can be used as a DPWS client/server :)

After posting my earlier message, I found the ENC28 + mIP solution which I'm gonna tryout.

Many of the items on the Nwazet site are pre-orders, like the SD Module. You'll notice right under the title that it gives you an estimated date of availability. They would be the same SD Module and you could pre-order now if you like.
