Netduino 1 Plus - can't set network config after upgrade to 4.2.1

Best Answer Audiobuzz, 11 May 2015 - 11:46 AM

Weird...I tried it three times tonight and each time I got the same "unable to erase configuration memory" error.

Then I tried it a fourth time and it worked. Must be a timing thing.

Thanks Chris, Appreciate your help

Hi All,

I've recently upgraded my Netduino 1 Plus to 4.2.1 using a Windows 10 VM running on Mac (VMware fusion).

Everything went well except when I go to re-set the MAC address using the standard MFDeploy, I get the all too common failure. I tried the 'custom' version of MFDeploy they Chris posted but it won't detect my netduino using USB so won't let me set anything.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Jarrad

Hi Jarrad,

Can you try this really quickly?
  • Press and hold the pushbutton while powering up your board.
  • Press Ping in MFDeploy. You should see "...TinyBooter."
  • Update your network configuration in MFDeploy.
  • After saving the config, unplug and reattach your Netduino Plus 1.
Does that work for you? VMs can be dodgy and Windows 10 is still beta...but there should be a way to get this to work...

Chris

P.S. The 4.2 firmware for Netduino Plus 1 uses WinUSB, so you'll need to use the MFDeploy that comes with one of the newer NETMF SDKs.

Thanks Chris,

I'm pretty sure I've tried that but I'll verify again tonight.

I should have said I'm using the latest 4.3 SDK and NetMF under VS 2013 community.

Cheers

Jarrad
