#11663 wireless communication

Posted by qin__23 on 04 April 2011 - 10:06 PM in General Discussion

Hi all, Looking to buy a netduino, and was curious: what shields exist for wireless communication? Not for loading code, but for communication. Xbee? Wifly? Thanks. qin__23

#3373 multiple shields

Posted by qin__23 on 01 October 2010 - 06:28 PM in Netduino 2 (and Netduino 1)

Hi qin__23,

Welcome to the Netduino community!

As long as the shields use different pins and are "stackable", you'll be fine. Stackable shields have pin headers on top which match the layout of the Netduino.

Also, GPS drivers should be easy--but you may need to write an interface for the Wifly shield. You'll also want to make sure that it's compatible with 3.3V signals. Netduino can take 5V--but it's an ARM board so it only outputs 3.3V.

Great!
Thanks for the reply.

#3369 multiple shields

Posted by qin__23 on 01 October 2010 - 05:10 PM in Netduino 2 (and Netduino 1)

Hi all, Thinking of buying a netduino, but was wondering if it's possible to have multiple shields on the same netduino. Like a Wifly shield, and a GPS shield both mounted on the same netduino. Thanks. qin__23
