#45265 Safe Way to power netduino with 5v Regulated Supply

Posted by Zbyszek on 10 February 2013 - 08:52 PM in Netduino Plus 2 (and Netduino Plus 1)

Yes, you can connect a USB cable at the same time as supplying power into the Vin/barrel input.

There is a transistor that disconnects the USB's 5V line when Vin is available.

Thank you.

#45258 Safe Way to power netduino with 5v Regulated Supply

Posted by Zbyszek on 10 February 2013 - 06:22 PM in Netduino Plus 2 (and Netduino Plus 1)

Hello, let me re-phrase this question. My Netduino Plus 2 can be powered by:

1)  a PC via USB cable or

2)  a stand-alone 7.5-9VDC power supply.

Can both cables (USB and 7.5-9VDC) stay connected to my Netuduino Plus 2 card at the same time?

Hello Chris,

Its me again,  this time to let you know that I have ignored a couple of "Windows logo testing" warnings and got me Netduino pinging back successfully. Therefore, I should be able to proceed.

#44166 Netduino Drivers

Posted by Zbyszek on 25 January 2013 - 02:36 PM in Netduino 2 (and Netduino 1)

Hello Chris,

I've just unpacked my first Netduino Plus 2 and tried to connect with my laptop running Windows XP. Hardware Wizard made a couple of attempts to install new device driver. First attempt failed. For the second attempt I provieded NetDuinoDrivers (from your zip file). This time I've got a message saying that the driver did not pass "Windows logo testing" and it is not recommended to coninue with its installation. So, I stopped the process. What should I do now?

Regards,

Zbyszek
