let see if i got it right.
i need to flash the .NET Micro Framework bootloader to 512K flash memory with sam-ba (via usb?).
then visual studio will be able to emulate via usb or to deploy with MFDeploy.

let say that i want to build by myself a circuit with AT91SAM7X512 (new from atmel).
i just need to connect it via usb and use it in visual studio just as i would do with netduino?
