#18219 Netduino SDK v4.X.X install failure
Posted by Kriss on 19 September 2011 - 09:17 PM in General Discussion
Finally success. The Driver signing Options were set to Block - Never install unsigned driver software. It would not surprise me if the option is set by the domain administrator. #insert <developer forced to use "standard" desktop system>
If you get the problem, Control Panel -> System -> System Properties -> (Drivers box) Driver Signing -> check Warn or Ignore option -> OK and try again.
#17782 What's in the magical, mysterious, box of crappy surplus?

Sounds like such a box is easily made from the remains of a ham/computer fest. It is amazing what people force upon you when you recognize equipment and you don't run away quick enough when they quote the "if you recognize it you must take it" disposal rule.
#17781 Netduino SDK v4.X.X install failure
Posted by Kriss on 08 September 2011 - 09:20 PM in General Discussion
I am looking at developing a project on the Netduino Plus. I went ahead and installed the MicroFrameworkSDK 4.1 then attempted to install the netduino SDK 4.1, but the installations failed with the following message:
The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. (Tell me why this testing is important)
This software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator.
Any ideas? The below is what I have tried.
--- Step 2: MicroFramework SDK 4.2 RC2...
Uninstalled MicroFramework SDK 4.1
Downloaded and installed successfully MicroFramework SDK 4.2 RC2
Downloaded netduino SDK 4.2 (Beta)
Tried installing netduino SDK 4.2 (Beta), but same failure.
I poked around the group policy as I wonder if the Local Policy -> Security Options -> Devices: Unsigned driver installation behavior set to (Do not allow installation) might be the issue. If it is I will have to go up the domain as I can not change the setting even as box administrator.
--- Step 3: Develop Code - N/A at this time
