Thanks for that, it works great, and thanks for the explanation.  Huge help!  About your comment "SetDutyCycle takes an unsigned integer (unit)":  How would a beginner, such as myself, know that, or all the other "rules"?  I think that's the kind of documentation I was asking about in this thread.

Thanks for the guidance, it's much appreciated!  It appears that the statement:

redled.SetDutyCycle(red);

is causing some issues.. it doesn't like "red" to be in parenthesis.

thanks for the encouragement, I will take your advice and start with a small project and see what happens.  Since I've gotten the RBG project working (as shown in Getting Started with Netduino), I will try to figure out how to make it shift through the color spectrum in a loop.
