It could be if being issued different addresses fills up the configuration sector. Something I hope Chris will let us know more about once he has the tools to see how DHCP activity affects the configuration sector.

Robert

Hi,

does anybody know if any of the problems covered in this thread were corrected in 4.2?

Or a better knowledge in regard to how DHCP (IP lease renewals or IP changes) affect the configuration sector? May the configuration sectors still fill up after a couple of hundred updates? I am mostly concerned with the simple case with DHCP enabled in config.

Thanks for any new light on this issue.

..Peter

I got it working. Win7/32, SDK and MicroFramework at 4.2. SAM-BA v2.12. I'll try to explain the steps that made it work for me and that are different or varies compared to the Forum official entries. Of course I can't be sure exactly what variation made it work, probably just one. For the SAM-BA step i followed the instructions here http://financecoding...-netduino-mini/ They are for a mini and a different version of SDK, SAM-BA, etc, and I substituted as necessary. Apart from the different SW versions one notable difference is that one the first steps: ------------------------------------------------------ "Boot from Flash (GPNVM2)" and click on "Execute" (this is from http://wiki.netduino...ep-by-step.ashx) ------------------------------------------------------- happens toward the end instead of at the beginning. I dunno if it makes a difference, I just repeat the steps prescribed (which I followed). -- As an aside, the instructions are well written and informative. After the SAM-BA session, and various unplugging/replugging, etc, all in-vain, I rebooted Win7. Up again I unplugged/replugged a couple of times and finally Windows "recognized" and converted the Camera Driver under Device Manager (ports) to an entry, Netduino, in Device Manager (usb). Well It's been 2 dreadful days! I can only hope for more smooth sailing from now on . But after all it was pretty good before I started this upgrade. Now it seems to be over and I can probably look forward to more positive experiences. Regards, Peter Kobl

thanks for replying, yes, sure there's a mismatch somewhere, that's why it does not work. I don't think the mismatch is in my reading capabilities. The mismatch is in the documentation. It does not tell me in an orderly way what the problem is and what to do about it. On top of that I have to integrate it myself since it is scattered throughout scores of forum entries. I guess I'm pissed and it's late and I'm barking up the wrong tree, I can only hope that whoever is responsible will read this. I'll try to be nice about it now, and I've already invested quite some time, so yes, suppose I'm being some sort of involuntary debugging/beta person now so here goes: N+, bricked, nothing in it. Power LED and "LED" LED on permanently. Windows 7 32 bit version, SAM-BA v2.10 CDC, Micro Framework 4.1, SDK v4.1.0, Device Manager says "AT91 USB to Serial Converter (COM56)", and has nothing relevant in the USB "tree". When running SAM-BA it only provides COM1 in the dropdown. When changing that to COM56 it "fails to connect". And I'm even not sure I'm supposed to use SAM-BA at this point, it's not really a step by step forum entry. What do I do next? Sorry for being rude. I know it's not your fault. regards, Peter
