I have had this happen a couple of times. For me, I have managed to get around the problem by swapping USB ports on the PC that the board is connected to. Visual studio would then download ok after that. Not managed to find out what causes it though.

Also had a problem when the code was too big to fit onto the board. I had included a resource that was way too big to fix. Here is a link to another post that talks about similar issues:

Not sure if you are still interested but have a SanDisk 16GB Class 2 microSDHC working with Version: 4.1.1 BETA 1 (version 4.1.1.0 b1) firmware. Note: Hardest thing is finding something to format the card with when you don't have a memory card reader. The blackberry worked a treat in this instance.
