Hi guys.

After many long months my book on Netduino is finally published and available! :-)

It's available in print and digital.

Packt: http://www.packtpub....-lazy-boys/book (note that the info here is not up to date)

The target audience is people that know the basics of the platform but don't know where to go from there. That being said, the first chapter does go over how to get VS setup, and how to blink an LED.

#46053 Tutorial: Netduino + WP8 real-life maze game

Posted by roguemat on 22 February 2013 - 10:45 AM

So next up is a fun little maze game :) Most of my things are concepts but I got inspired by the Space Invaders project in this forum.

#45441 Netduino and C#

Posted by roguemat on 13 February 2013 - 04:28 PM

IMO diving straight into the list of API's is just going to confuse you.

What might be better is to set a few goal applications that you want to make, and then learn new things as you confront challenges.

But best case would definitely be to get a basic C# book.

#45363 Netduino + Sonar + WP8 + Bluetooth - Controlling sound with your mind

Posted by roguemat on 12 February 2013 - 07:52 AM

I'm enjoying using Bluetooth to make 2-parted stuff (WP8+Netduino) - so here's another tutorial I wrote last night:

#45267 More Netduino + WP8 + Bluetooth fun- 3D reconstruction

Posted by roguemat on 10 February 2013 - 09:10 PM

Occasionally I get time to do non-work stuff. That means hardly every, but still :P

This is my next tutorial on Bluetooth with the Netduino and WP8. This time it's got a nice 3D model of the Netduino :) My designer has written a guide on making the model, which I will post soon along with the actual model (higher quality than the one I used in the link below-but I forgot to use the newer file).

Anyway, enjoy:

#43479 Wedding tank

Posted by roguemat on 15 January 2013 - 08:23 PM

Hey - forgot to post my little wedding tank here :-)

It's at about 1:04.

Was a fully steel shell on motorbike chains for tracks which shook the wooden floor nicely. Then wired up a bubble gun and had a fan underneath blowing the bubbles up.

#43313 Controlling a netduino with a WP8 via Bluetooth

Posted by roguemat on 13 January 2013 - 08:53 PM

Hey there Netduinees!

I've made quite a detailed tutorial of how to communicate between a Windows Phone 8 and a Netduino with a cheap Bluetooth module.

The app controls the RGB of an LED based on the sliders in the app. Another way is using the camera on the phone to get the average ambient color of what it's looking at and change the LED accordingly.

I'm a Windows/Windows Phone dev so electronics is not my forte' - which is why everything in the post is probably painfully easy for everyone here. But I hope it can help out even 1 person :-)
