GainSpan module .... Its too small!

30 January 2012 - 07:05 AM

Is there any crafty solutions to prototyping with an smd device? I have a GainSpan GS1011 with 0.05" pitch ... getting it with breakout in the UK envolved waiting and cost ... so i just went for it

I've made a schematic in eagle based on the shield, but single layer and just breaking out the pins ... before i go and try to etch this I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of an adapter or board that would do the job? I've discovered numerous possibles, cheap and expensive ... but not entirely knowing what im dealing with I'm only guessing from photos when there no schematics.

Thanks!

Netduino progression?

09 January 2012 - 02:19 AM

What's the next step up from Netduino? Need to run an SSL stack for a couple of projects, one based around network routing and others with e-commerce function. I've looked at things like the Fez spider / GHI's EMX module ... but it's priority that I keep the production cost as low as possible so I am a little unsure if this is the right choice. If anyone can offer any advice would be much appreciated.
