#19724 Extended GCC Support

Posted by KodeDaemon on 25 October 2011 - 12:50 AM

I've been working on extending the GCC support for the firmware (patch for 4.2 RC3 is attached). The following is a comparison of code sizes produced by each of the toolchains I tested.

YAGARTO GNU ARM Toolchain
  • GCC-4.5.2 (20110318)
    • Firmware: 354,252 bytes
    • TinyBooterDecompressor.bin: 88,844 bytes
  • GCC-4.6.0 (20110429)
    • Firmware: 346,780 bytes
    • TinyBooterDecompressor.bin: 86,460 bytes
Sourcery G++ Lite
  • GCC-4.5.2 (2011.03-42)
  • Firmware: 379,260 bytes
  • TinyBooterDecompressor.bin: 88,700 bytes
RVDS
  • Firmware: 282,252 bytes
  • TinyBooterDecompressor.bin: 41,548 bytes

#19556 What's in the magical, mysterious, box of crappy surplus?

Posted by KodeDaemon on 21 October 2011 - 07:03 PM

Lol, I had a lot packages to ship that day, I must have missed putting my name on it. :)

I just got the BOCS! Opening and photographs will ensue! Well, at least photos of what I take and some of which I put in...the rest should maybe remain a surprise for the next person to get the BOCS.

BTW, it arrived without a name for "from" or "to". LOL, Kode! It was officially the "suspicious box of the day" although luckily it made it to me unopened.

#10417 Power consumption problem

Posted by KodeDaemon on 28 February 2011 - 11:14 PM

Chances are you are using a large amount of current and that's why your batteries are running out fast. A 9v battery can run 500mA for roughly an hour. I would figure out how much current you are using and look for a battery that can supply that for the amount of time you are expecting it to run for.
