Netduino Plus 2 + Adafruit Motor Shield V2 for Arduino

28 September 2013 - 12:07 AM

Hi all,

My request is simply, has anyone been successful in controlling two steppers simply using only a Netduino Plus 2 + Adafruit Motor Shield V2 for Arduino?  I have read many (many) posts relating to the original shield and have reviewed all the code samples I can find but feel I may be missing something..   There have been comments that the shift register was too slow and so people went to alternative controllers.  With the on-board PWM chip in V2 this issue should have been aleviated but I have not found any references to people successfully using the shield as a standalone solution for steppers.  I particularly wanted to tap into the stackable feature as I would like to control up to six steppers..  Anyone had success here?

If not, should I switch to arduino directly or is there a "simple" alternative that would allow me to control six steppers from a single netduino without overtaxing the processor?

Many thanks in advance,

  David.
