Hi Guys!!

I want a USB to serial converter which I can use with my Netduino 1. I found one on ebay: http://www.ebay.in/i...2-/290803061413

I don't know whether it will be a good option to go for this adapter with Netduino or not.

Can you please suggest?

Thanks

Hi Prashant,

this one looks totally fine, but since it has no cable, you should get an USB extension cable to connect it.

Greetings.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the reply. It's an adapter, that means it will go directly into the USB port. But I do need M/F cable to connect it to Netduino.

Thanks

Any USB to serial adaptor will do if you just want a com port on your PC.

If however you are trying to a program a mini with it there have been reports of some of the cheaper leads not working, so spend as much as you can afford, other wise a cheap FTDI bare tail lead is ideal as it only has a USB plug at one end and bare wires at the other.

Nak.

btw: for programming the mini on rs232 port i use the cp2102 and an max232 to shift the levels to 12v.

works fine, programming and reflashing
