Hey I'm brand new to the Netduino and am trying to get up and going on the introductory exercises but am already hitting a wall.

I tried to walk through the step by step to download Microsoft visual studio...now only VS2012 is available for download even from the links here on the Netduino website. I downloaded VS2012 then the .NET Micro Framework SDK v 4.2 then the Netduino SDK 4.2.2.0 64 bit version. I'm running windows 8.

I got an error on install of the .NET Micro framework that said it was only compatible with VS2010 and that the installation had failed. I'm stuck for now anyone got the keys to the castle?

Looking forward to figuring this out.

You can install the Microsoft Framework SDK 4.3. It contains 4.2. I installed it on my Win 8 and it works. This link http://netmf.codeple...m/workitem/1968 is perhaps helpful. It descripts why SDK 4.2 don't work with vs2010
