At work we are looking for a low cost solution to PLC(Programmable Logic Controller), and I was wondering if it would be possible to use a network of Netdruinos as a substitute? This would be in an industrial environment.

What is the voltage range on the analog ports on the Neutrino 2 Plus? I'm thinking with some signal conditioning it could work.

Is this a bad idea?

I'm in the process of converting a PLC application over to the Netduino in order to reduce cost. I've been using Crouzet PLC's but they are too expensive and have too little RAM. The Netduino with a keypad, 2 line LCD and a cheap 4 relay board will do what I need at a fraction of the cost.
