by 'the board' you mean one of the netduinos?  I don't think it is required.  Here is a non-normative summary of product categories requiring it:

http://www.ce-markin...at-product.html

closest thing I can find is 'low-voltage equipment', but that range starts at 50v.  if there was a radio on the board, that would change things.  (And I suppose if the package was marked "ages 5 and up", that would as well, haha).

Hi,

Does anybody know the scoop regarding CE Mark (Europe++) and FCC Label (US). There seems to be quite some confusion here. I'm wonderiing why the board can even be sold in Europe without the CE Mark, and what about products that include the board?

Any infos or tips here?

Thanks!

R

I have not looked up the exact details, but I think "development board" does not require CE mark.

This is indeed good news! My document didn't give the ranges ... and "low voltage equipment" is still above any voltages that we'll be using with the netduino (board or shields) -- unless it is a radio or a toy :-). Funny thing is, I got onto this bandwagon after reading somewhere that the arduino had finally received a CE Mark. What for then?

By all means consult someone qualified if you're going to ship product, but I think maybe EMC testing.
