I put together a solar system at my cabin which has no connections to the outside world (internet or hydro)

I needed a (low power) way to view the state and history of my solar system, so I created this app that monitors a Midnite Solar charge controller using the modbus TCP interface and an Outback Inverter using a serial interface  and displays a web status page using an embedded web server

Looks great, nice to know what's going on.

 

I think I would rescale your battery display from 20 -30 volts or similar. otherwise it wont move much.

While you created your own solar system, I'm stuck with old Milky way ;-) Cool project, very useful with a beautiful web GUI. Is it reliable over time or are you using some kind of watchdog?

I found that the Netduino was hanging when the generator was started, I've ordered a dc to dc power supply (LM2596) so I can run the circuit off the 24V batteries instead of the AC. I'm also considering an external watchdog as described here (http://highfieldtale...r-the-netduino/).

 

 

I will be adding scaling to the power and battery gauges.

Yes, both things seems like good ideas. The reset pin of my Netduino mini is "soft" and thus unreliable even with a watchdog. I'm not sure how reset is implemented on the N2+ though.
