Hi Yeorwned, We'll be testing the SPI transport with the Shield Base and Gadgeteer Adapter modules with Netduino Go and .NET MF 4.3 once .NET MF 4.3 QFE1 ships. Hopefully a bit later this year. We'll be exposing one feature at a time, and then moving Shield Base out of beta. BTW there's also a speed increase moving from UART to SPI. Chris

Hi eplaksienko, Shield Base and Netduino 2 are very similar. Netduino 2 adds dedicated SDA and SCL pins and a USB port. The chip used on Netduino 2 also has a lot more flash/RAM (so that it can run NETMF), has USB, etc. The goal is to enable you to create one codebase and run it on either system (N2/NP2 or SB) without any code changes. And also I think I burnt NGO, I used on SB DF Robot Motoroshield and when I used external batteries on motorshield (6V) it went craze with both NGO and SB. Any idea why?

Hi eplaksienko, Shield Base is designed to be programmed via Netduino Go, but if you want to hack away at it a bit you could do the same thing via a PC. To do that, you'd wire up a breakout to the GoPort connector on the Shield Base. Then you'd provide power and pull up the INQ/BOOTLOADER pin. Finally you'd use ST tools to flash the board via UART using the BIN files which are included in the Shield Base reflash project. As far as electrocuting boards go... If a shield provides power to the Netduino then you would want to use a Netduino 2 or Netduino Plus 2 instead. Providing power to VIN on Shield Base to enable motor shields is fine, but the power headers on Shield Base are output-only. You can find out if your Netduino Go is okay by unplugging all modules from it and then erasing and reflashing it. If it boots up at that point, it's probably fine. If not then it may have gotten zapped :( Chris
