Doing a google search, I found the datasheet with communication specifications of a 2GB sdcard that is not working with the netduino plus 4.1 and 4.2 firmwares. I think it could help devs. I will try to look into the netduino firmware source myself, but its not very probable that I could figure something out :). The datasheet:

And here is a thread on a AVR forum with problems with a qpi sd card and the SPI bus, aprently it was solved with some dummy bytes before selecting the sd card on the SPI bus. It semms to be the case for other sd cards too.

I saw some dummy bytes in the sdcard driver of the firmware here and there. I would try it mysef but I cannot set up all the development environment for compiling the firmware, at least for now.

I know its just a guess, but anyways....
