We had this discussion a while ago.  The problem you will find with using languages other than English is that you will reduce the number of people who will be able to contribute/help.

The language of technology is English.

I agree... keep it like it is. Google translate does a good job of translation if anyone needs to convert to English or Vice Versa.

I agree that keeping the forum in english will provide the most responses to questions.

But I would also like to reccommend that individuals provide their location (at least the country) this will allow us to have an idea of the native language and the time zone that they are located in.

You can also list the languages that you speak in the member area. That way you may find someone that speaks your primary language that you can contact by private message for additional help.

I think there should be a firmware releases/announcements forum, a locked forum with one post for every product and it's firmware releases/announcements.

You can have that, and still have a seperate firmware feedback thread in the "normal" forums..

In the ideal world this would be on the Wiki, but a Wiki is kinda meehh and not what the young bright minds want these days...:-)

 Bonjour Jean-Martin!

It's nice to see another Canadian in the forums. I'm in Ottawa which isn't too far away from you. Unfortunately my French is horrid, and quite frankly with me being a Newfie my English isn't that much better. If you ever have any questions I'll do my best to help you out. My wife and kids are all bilingual so they can help translate some stuff, however my responses may be a little slow.

Cheers,

Steve

JMiljours,

That is exactly what I was talking about, and I think that it will help. I was in Montreal for a couple of winters a long time ago. What French I learned then is about gone. I may be able to still order food but thats about it. But we can work on it if need be.
