I am trying to update my bootloader(I was told I need to in order to go from 4.1 to 4.2). After shorting from the 3v3 to the little square I unplugged and then plugged it back in and launched SAM-BA. I chose my board(at91sam7x512) and my COM port(COM7). After launching it I either get the error "No valid processor ID" or it simply runs and does nothing(waited up to 30 minutes). Can someone please help me?

Glad to know it's not just me. Looks like we are doing the same steps and getting the same results.  I am 100% new to this whole thing and not off to a good start.

TinyP - If you get this going,, please provide an update

My Update - After going through the steps again with a little more focus, I got this to work. Not sure if this helps you, but I was erasing the board improperly (I guess). Holding the 3v3 pin on the erase pad 'while powering up' seemed to get me on a better path. Now I got the Blinky program to work and I'm ready for the next challenge.

Tiny - Did you read the part about removing the old 4.1 drivers before using the 4.2?
