Are you going to be recording the Netduino Course held on August 25th? Would it be possible for you to post the class materials after the fact either for free or for purchase? From Las Vegas To Baltimore is a bit a stretch for me. http://harfordhacker...netduino-class/

Yeah, I'd love to see some of this some of this material online as well.

If you do decide to take a road trip though Steven, can I catch a lift on your way through Colorado, I've got a few bucks to pitch for gas. :P

I don't think that Harford Hackerspace is planning on recording it. As the first Netduino course, we'll be using the opportunity to get feedback from the participants...and hopefully put together some coursework that hackerspaces around the globe can use in the future. It should be a pretty good time, though.

Is there a local hackerspace in Las Vegas? Maybe we could help get them set up with Netduino classes...

Maybe start a bus in Seattle or Los Angeles and pick people up on the way to Maryland? :)

I don't know. I'm a long time programmer and a neophyte hardware hacker. Hopefully I don't burn up more Netduinos than I can afford to buy. I'll look and see if there's a local hackerspace.

Heck I'd pay a few bucks to be able to watch a recorded session to help cover costs.

Perhaps we can take what we learn from the class and do an online course? As I understand it, this first class will cover everything from soldering to creating a Netduino project in Visual Studio to making a cool light cube. The class in Baltimore is kind of like a restaurant before it opens its doors. We bring in some VIPs, share some food with them (or in this case teach them how to build something cool start-to-finish with a Netduino), and then they go home full (or in this case, they go home with what they've built). They give us their feedback, and they get a free Netduino out of the deal as our way of saying "thank you"... This class will be great for the people that attend, but it will also be great for us because it will give us the feedback we need to investigate building coursework to support hackerspaces around the globe. We will likely do a writeup about the class to share with the world. There may or may not be a short video compilation made showcasing the class. We did not have any intention of recording the class in full. I do like the ustream idea a little but I'm not sure how the participants would feel about that.

Today was gorgeous out here (Chicago) actually. First day in a couple of weeks where it wasn't either really wet or brutally hot and humid. The wife, the kids and I spent pretty much the entire day outside it was so nice.

Best time of year in Chicago if you ask me is May/June and Sept/Oct -- before/after the mosquitos come out and the weather is a little more tolerant.

I just got back from the first ever Netduino class at Harford Hackerspace. 13 people RSVP'd (~12 was the limit). And then one other gentleman came knowing he wouldn't get a Netduino--but hoping to be able to sit in. The Harford Hackerspace team put together a really nice presentation, walked the class through some simple apps, helped the class solder a "software PWM" light cube, and even built a JavaScript program which would create bit arrays so they could do animations. It was well planned, and very cool. They got lots of great feedback on their class. We're hoping to take what we learned from them and the class members and build some course materials... And yes, the 14th gentleman got a Netduino. We brought an extra one. A big shout out to the Harford Hackerspace for the great time... Maybe Squintz has some photos he can share... Lots of catching up on the forums to do... Chris

Cool video. Great job again, Harford Hackerspace team... I really enjoyed the class too. BTW, I showed the cube we made at MakerFaire Rhode Island--lots of people loved the blinking cube lights. Chris

I'm planning on a doing a mini-intro to the Netduino for our local .NET user group here in the Bangor Maine area. Probably for October... :)

Pretty awesome! Can you take photos or at least post about it online when it happens?
