Since I'm currently waiting to see if the WiFly shield will work with a normal Netduino I thought I might start prototyping my solution by purchasing a Netduino Plus. Is there any planned availability date? Also I've been closely following the thread about Netbios - it seems like it's working in your labs. Any word on if the final production Netduino Plus will come with the Netbios code baked in? Thanks for hard work - this is a truly enjoyable platform to code for!

Hi James, The production batch of Netduino Pluses are being assembled and/or in transit right now. Our target launch date is three weeks from today (although we could fall a bit before or after that). As far as NETBIOS goes...the production Netduino Pluses will probably ship with the v4.1.0.6 firmware. I don't have a good pulse on all the NETBIOS details, but I can find out... We're planning on launching with the support that Microsoft baked in, but we'll certainly be looking to add more on (and you can compile the firmware yourself if you'd like with the community NETBIOS contributions--it's all open source). That's great! I didn't realize MS had baked in support for NETBIOS at all. I'll start a separate thread for that topic.

Just to clarify... If there is an NETBIOS support baked in, that's what the first version is shipping with. (Community member) Pascal has been cooking up some/more NETBIOS support that we're planning on integrating--but that will be post-launch. [Although I'm sure either he, we, or you could compile an early build of the firmware.]

Sorry for any confusion. I just want to make sure we meet or exceed expectations (and not the other way around) :)

Glad to hear they're shipping soon. I was lucky enought to get one of the early devices, but it's now embedded in my first project and operating my garage door and lighting over ethernet. Improvements will be underway soon, but I'll need another Netduino Plus first! (Might as well get a Netduino Mini too and combine the shipping costs. :) )
